La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation that preserves, protects, and enhances the parks, beaches, other recreational resources, open spaces and coastal accesses within an area generally located in the Village of La Jolla, California, extending south to and including the Bird Rock neighborhood.
LJPB engages in fund-raising activities to improve the experience in these settings for both residents and visitors. LJPB is an advocate on behalf of the community to the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department within its designated area, which excludes La Jolla Shores and the La Jolla Community Park/La Jolla Recreation Center.
La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc., is comprised of a board of volunteers who live, work or play regularly in the Area of its responsibility. LJPB relies upon active involvement by its board members to spearhead projects and respond to community concerns and requests.
Membership is earned by attending meetings as provided in the Bylaws, as vacancies occur. Meetings are generally held on the fourth Monday of each month though subject to cancellation or modification due to holidays. Agendas are posted on this website and on the bulletin board at the La Jolla Recreation Center at 615 Prospect Street, La Jolla, California.
