About La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc.

La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation (Tax ID#: 45-3281923) that preserves, protects, and enhances the parks, beaches, other recreational resources, open spaces, and coastal accesses within an area generally located in the shoreline area of the community of La Jolla.

The organization relies upon active involvement by its board and community members to spearhead projects which improve the experience in the parks and beaches within our area for residents and visitors, and to respond to community concerns and requests. We are comprised of a board of volunteers who live or work or recreate in the area.

La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc. (LJPB) primary purpose is to work in partnership with the community and coastal stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and accessibility and enjoyment of the City of San Diego’s shoreline through fundraising; priority park improvements, volunteerism; and resident, visitor, and tourist experience.

LJPB continues to build on the legacy and foundation of other local community groups and the City of San Diego to help ensure the La Jolla shoreline remains the world-class destination of ecological and environmental significance, and is to be enjoyed and beloved by generations of residents and visitors from throughout the U.S. and every corner of the globe.

La Jolla Parks and Beaches, Inc. was founded in 2011 as a spinoff of a committee of the La Jolla Town Council.  It was then was able to obtain its non-profit 501(c)(3) status, and achieve recognition as a Community Advisory Group with the City of San Diego.
