The fence had been in disrepair for years and in many places was splintered, broken or falling over bluff, posing “a safety hazard for all along the bluffs,” Evans said. “Brush management along the bluffs was nonexistent. Also, it was just a plain old eye-sore. It was not a way to meet and greet for anyone entering and walking along the shoreline.”

Bob Evans, president of the La Jolla Parks & Beaches board, says he’s pleased with progress the city of San Diego has made recently to repair and repaint the white fencing along Coast Boulevard.

The sections between the Children’s Pool and Scripps Park are complete, and city crews have started on the sections between Scripps Park and The Cave Store.
